Job description:

This position is housed in the HBKU Campus Life area, which is located in the HBKU Student Center.  Campus Life strives to foster educational and engaging campus-wide involvement opportunities for HBKU college students. We have five core areas of focus:  Leadership Development, Service-Learning, Sport and Recreation, HBKU Student Organizations, and Annual Traditions & Events.  The Campus Life Student assistant will assist in the planning, implementation and assessment of Campus Life’s programs, initiatives and activities. The primary responsibilities are listed below.

 

Primary Responsibilities will include:

·          Assist in partnership with other communities ( e.g. Qatar charity, RAF, Red crescent, ROTA )

o    Plan Local service events

o    Plan overseas Trips

  • (When requested ) Work with the Student Life Committee to plan, implement and assess the following annual events:
    • HBKU Student Leader Workshop
    • HBKU Family Day
    • International Fest
    • Make a Difference Day (and related service events).
  • ( When Requested) Assist in the planning, implementation and assessment of the following Campus Life programs/events:
    • The Ya Hala kick-off event
    • Qatar LeaderShape
    • HBKU Student Organization Awards
  • Effectively advertise and recruit student volunteers for relevant programs above.
  • Create and contribute to new programming ideas and initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Strong work ethic
  • Languages : Arabic and English
  • Personal drive and motivation
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work/be on campus in the evenings
  • Ability to think creatively and critically
  • Flexibility with work schedule and processes
  • Comfort in working with communities outside of QF
