Job Title: Peer Tutor- Writing Center

Role: Tutor

Job description:

One Opening

In order to be considered for this position, students must register/apply on tech4work and forward their cover letter and CV to p-seapy@northwestern.edu

•    Complete tutor training program
•    Assist students individually with writing difficulties
•    Lead small-group workshops in writing and grammar
•    Regular attendance during office hours
•    Punctuality
•    Attendance at staff meetings
•    Familiarity with materials and procedures of the Writing Center
•    Maintain confidentiality
•    Review audio-visual programs, computer software programs, textbooks, workbooks, reference books and other instructional materials at the Writing Center
•    Complete reports in a timely manner using the WCOnline software program
•    Other related duties as assigned by the Writing Center Coordinator (ESL Writing Specialist)

Qualifications required:

•Currently enrolled at Northwestern University in Qatar
•GPA of 3.5 or higher
•Native oral and written English proficiency
•Two recommendations from faculty
•Good interpersonal communication skills
•Commitment to the goals and objectives of the Writing Center
•Excellent writing skills, including a clear understanding of grammar
•Exemplary ethics and integrity
