Job description:

The ‘Design Studies Research Assistant’ is responsible for assisting the faculty member in a variety of tasks, which may include the following:

  • Conduct library research, literature reviews, and other project specific research methodologies
  • Collect and analyze data through logical critical analysis
  • Prepare resources, equipment, and materials in support of the research activities
  • Experience with specialized design software, interactive tools, and/or databases
  • Meet with faculty supervisor on regular basis to maintain ongoing communication
  • Request or acquire equipment or supplies necessary for the project/research
  • Manage and respond to project related email
  • Prepare, maintain, and update website materials as needed
  • Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications required:

I seek a dynamic student researcher who is excited about using design tools to help connect people. The ideal research assistant should possess excellent oral/written communication skills, programming knowledge, and an interest in building skills related to the practice of design. You should be able to work independently, accurately, and to problem-solve technical and methodological issues that arise during the course of the research. Strong organisational, written, and interpersonal skills are essential in order to discuss and document research progress.

 

Current enrolment in the undergraduate or graduate design studies with experience and authority in the study of design is preferred.
