TOTAL DURATION: Five months


DUTIES/JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a qualified, intellectually curious and enthusiastic candidate to assist a professor on a research project. The role is based in the UCL Qatar program in Library and Information Studies. Key duties will include:

o Assist with making contact with key custodians of oral histories in Qatar.

o Help with documenting oral history collections and add them to a content management system

o Assist with event planning, coordination, and set up

o Assist with primary resource research on oral history

o Other general administrative duties as required

HOURS: Up to 18 hours a week during school term.

- Interest in archives, oral history and cultural heritage

- Native or near native fluency in Arabic (Qatari dialect preferred)

- Highly motivated and enthuastic

- Familiarity with Qatari social networks

- Familiarity with data management systems or ability to learn

- Ability to use initiative.


· RATE OF PAY: The current rate is QAR 45.
