Job description:

Time Commitment: 2 hours a week for meetings, 2 hours a week for other duties (email, programming etc.)

• Preside over all general RSG meetings (1-2 hours weekly) • Meet with the Advisor(s) once a week • Meet with each executive officer at least twice a quarter • Monitor and follow up on RSG (both executive and general board positions) attendance problems, as well as grant absences. • Act as the visionary for RSG on all official matters. • Complete other duties assigned by the executive board and/or the advisor(s) • Abide by and enforce the constitution. • Coordinate leadership development programming in conjunction with the advisor, including but not limited to, fall, winter and spring training/retreats/in-services. • Attend RSG Leadership Retreat. • Facilitate a discussion to plan out the budget for the year during the fall semester. • Serve as budget authority for the RSG in conjunction with the treasurer and advisor(s). • Complete other duties assigned by the executive board and/or the advisor(s). • Preside over all RSG council meetings (2 hours biweekly) • Chair RSG executive board meetings (1 hour a week) • Must approve funding requests prior to it being placed on the agenda. • Appoint ad-hoc committees • Organize and facilitate an orientation session, including expectations of the council, a parliamentary procedure presentation, as well as any other topics the executive board deems necessary • Monitor and follow up on representative attendance problems, as well as grant absences to active representatives • Notify representatives of all RSG council meetings providing sufficient notice • Act as the spokesperson for RSG on all official matters • The President or their designee, shall also sit on and other committees as necessary • Attend the EC SGA general meeting as scheduled. • Complete other duties assigned by the executive board and/or the advisor(s) • Keep accurate, written records of all monetary transactions to and from RSG's account • Ask for a vote of confidence regarding the organization of the budget at the outset of each quarter • Facilitate a discussion to plan out the budget for the year during fall training • Serve as budget authority for RSG in conjunction with the Advisor(s). This includes managing any and all expenditure forms, reimbursements, and reconciliations with the Housing and Dining System • Meet with SHRL Office Manager and/or the University Housing Fiscal Analyst 2 times a quarter. • Organize, manage, and present to council a budget report during each RSG meeting • Abide by and enforce the constitution under advisement of the Secretary. • Coordinate leadership development programming in conjunction with the Advisor, including but not limited to, fall, winter and spring training/retreats/in-services


Qualifications required:

Officers shall be residents in Student Housing and Residence Life and reside in student housing for the duration of their term.

Beginning in Fall 2020, the President, Chair Person of Janoubi and Chair Person of Shamali must have been an active member of the RSG for at least two consecutive semesters (counting the current term) prior to their elected terms.

All officers must have a cumulative GPA of 2.50 at time of election and maintain that during their term. The RSG Advisors will conduct quarterly GPA checks for those in office. Officers with a cumulative GPA of less than 2.50 shall receive official notification by an advisor of probationary standing. This probationary period shall last for one previously agreed upon academic quarter. In the event that the cumulative GPA remains below 2.50, then the officer will be deemed ineligible to continue holding their elected position. At this time, the RSG Election Code will take effect.
