Job description:
Time Commitment: 2 hours a week for meetings, 1 hours a week for other duties (email, programming etc.)
- Manage any and all expenditure forms, reimbursements, and reconciliations with Residence Life.
- Support the President to plan out the budget for the year.
- Assess community needs for programming resources including the acquisition of new materials and services.
- Manage RSG inventory including oversight of lending materials to and from other communities
- Attend RSG Leadership Retreat.
- Abide by and enforce the constitution.
- Complete other duties assigned by the executive board and/or the advisor(s).
Each executive officer shall establish and maintain two posted office hours per school week to be held in the RSG office except for the President, who shall hold four posted office hours per school week with the same stipulations.
Officers shall also sit on committees as deemed appropriate by the current RSG executive board and Advisors.
Each executive board officer shall facilitate the position transition to the person elected to fill their opposition for the next academic year. Each officer will be responsible for updating and maintaining all position specific transition materials including transition binders, the RSG operations manual, RSG materials on the shared electronic drive and any other transition materials deemed necessary by the executive board. In addition each officer must train the person elected to fill their position for the next academic year in the specifics of their position.
Qualifications required:
Officers shall be residents in Student Housing and Residence Life and reside in student housing for the duration of their term.
Beginning in Fall 2020, the President, Chair Person of Janoubi and Chair Person of Shamali must have been an active member of the RSG for at least two consecutive semesters (counting the current term) prior to their elected terms.
All officers must have a cumulative GPA of 2.50 at time of election and maintain that during their term. The RSG Advisors will conduct quarterly GPA checks for those in office. Officers with a cumulative GPA of less than 2.50 shall receive official notification by an advisor of probationary standing. This probationary period shall last for one previously agreed upon academic quarter. In the event that the cumulative GPA remains below 2.50, then the officer will be deemed ineligible to continue holding their elected position. At this time, the RSG Election Code will take effect.
